Why you’re still hungry after eating (and how to reset your hunger signals after 40)
When was the first time you went on a diet?
When was the first time you decided you needed to stop eating to “drop a few pounds”?
How old were you?
If the research is right, it was around 13–14.
In fact, studies show dieting behaviours often begin just before or around age 14 for many girls.
But for many of us… it started even earlier.
Some research shows girls as young as 9–10 are already thinking about dieting or trying to change their bodies.
Years of Overriding
By the time we hit 40 and 50, we’ve spent years overriding our body.
Controlling food.
Ignoring hunger.
Trying to out-exercise it.
And I’m no different.
I’ve tried it all—vegan, low carb, paleo, keto…
You name it.
Ugh… I’ve tried it.
The Truth No One Told You
The Loop So Many Women Are Stuck In
This Isn’t About Discipline
That’s not a discipline problem.
That’s a signal problem.
We’ve overridden those signals for years… so of course they feel off.
And there’s another layer most people don’t realize.
When we get stuck in overthinking, it becomes a loop.
Psychology calls this rumination. A pattern of repetitive thinking that keeps us stuck in the same thoughts without resolution.
And the more we stay in that loop…the harder it is to actually hear our body
