When a Stranger Said Yes

A few months ago, my business coach gave me the task of finding someone who could act as a sort of mentor to me. She was encouraging a group of us to reach out to someone who could help us see our business, or ourselves, in a new light.

So being the good student that I am… I reached out to someone I didn’t know.

A businesswoman who had little kids, whose Instagram reels I watched and whose emails I read. A woman who I knew raised over a million dollars a year for a charity she built.

But she didn’t know me.

I figured I had nothing to lose, so I sent her an email and asked if we could meet for coffee in person. A few weeks passed and she said yes. Several scheduling shifts later, I found myself sitting across from her chatting.

She was lovely. We talked about our businesses, kids, raising millions of dollars… and then after an hour, it was over.

The Feeling That Dropped In

When I went back to my coach to tell my exciting story, she asked me how it made me feel.

I paused.

And then this dropped into my head: “Anything is possible.”

Later I would turn it into “Everything is possible.”

And so my word for 2026 is: Possibility.

It conjures up so many emotions for me. The excited emotion of what’s possible in my business. The proud, expansive emotions for my kids and my husband. The adventure-newness emotion for our travels together in 2026.

And of course, the “everything and anything is possible” emotion I have for you in the next 12 months.

Why New Year's Resolutions Set You Up to Fail

You’ll notice that inside these emotions, I never once mentioned New Year’s Resolutions.

To me, they are at best a shot at setting up goals for ourselves. At worst, they set us up to disappoint ourselves.

Think about it: How many times have you made a resolution to lose weight, only to feel like a failure by February? How many gym memberships have gone unused? How many diets have you started with determination, only to find yourself right back where you started (or heavier) a few months later?

It’s not because you lack willpower. It’s because resolutions are built on the wrong foundation.

Resolutions rely on discipline, restriction, and forcing yourself to do things your body and nervous system aren’t ready for. They ignore the deeper work of who you want to become and how you want to feel in your body.

But we know that without goals, we’ll never achieve the things we want in 2026. So how do we get there without them?

We get there by creating and building our signposts and I call them beacons.

Beacons are our personal lighthouses. They shine light on where we’re going, helping us navigate rough terrain and guide us to shore.

I call it The Freedom Blueprint Framework.

What Is The Freedom To Be You Guide?

Inside The Freedom Blueprint Framework and The Freedom to be You Workshop 2026, I’ll be using this guide to help women like you move into their state of possibility…without the shame, guilt, or inevitable failure of traditional resolutions.

Each day, there will be a new step to build your 10-step framework It’s a space to build YOUR blueprint framework based on your true desires and put it into action.

Let me show you what the first 3 days look like, which are also the first 3 steps to creating your Freedom Blueprint Framework.

Day 1: FREEDOM - Who Are You When You Have What You Want?

The freedom to choose what you want, how you want it, and how you’re going to get there.

The Freedom step is built on the foundation of what you want your days to look like. It’s created from the inside out.

Let's look at an example with weight loss:

Declare what you’d like to lose: “I’d like to lose 20 lbs in 2026.”

Now, we are NOT going to build steps on how to lose 20 lbs. You’re welcome. 🙂

Instead, you’re going to decide who you are as a woman who weighs 20lbs less.

That’s the freedom feeling.

How do you spend your days? Do you go for post-supper walks or do a little yoga before your morning coffee? Do you wake up slowly in the morning and write down your morning thoughts in a journal? Or do you get up when it’s still dark out and go for a morning walk, to watch the sunrise?

It’s not about doing more. It’s about giving yourself the freedom to build your days around who you want to be in 2026.

And how does that make you feel to see your life through her eyes?

Can you feel the excitement to get started? Can you feel the expansion of believing in her? Can you feel your gut and intuition kicking into gear?

It’s kind of a free feeling…like a kite on a breeze, isn’t it?

And that’s only the first activation and most take 10 minutes a day.

Day 2: CALIBRATION - Teaching Your Body to Accept the New You

Day 2’s foundation is calibration. It’s how you calibrate your body to let you lose 20 lbs and keep it off.

This is where resolutions fail you. They push you to change too fast, too hard, without letting your nervous system catch up. Your body perceives the sudden restriction as a threat and fights back, slowing your metabolism, increasing cravings, making you feel exhausted and crave high calorie foods

It’s like a climber attempting Mt. Everest. When climbers arrive in Nepal, they have to let their body adjust. They calibrate their body to handle the changing oxygen levels in their bloodstream.

The same goes for your body when letting go of weight.

You want to calibrate your nervous system to accept weighing less. It’s one of the secrets to letting go of weight and keeping it off, and it’s something resolutions completely ignore.

One of the easiest ways to start calibrating:

Grab a journal and write down a list of what worked once for you. Also, take stock of what didn’t work. We don’t want to repeat what felt awful in your body, we want to get you started on the right track.

Now sit with your list and re-read it. Feel your body accepting your ideas.

Where are you feeling it? What does it feel like? Tingly? Butterflies? Fear? Unease?

All feelings are welcome here.

It’s how we continue to tune in and let your body guide you. Accept the feelings and let your body know it’s safe. Thank it for keeping you safe and let it know that together, you’re headed on a new journey.

Inside our 10 days together, I’ll give you more calibration and somatic release ideas. Calibration is how you get your body to a new altitude, a new level of health, naturally without the force and restriction of resolutions.

Day 3: POWER - The Power of Not Lying to Yourself

Day 3 is POWER and the power of integrity. Integrity of who you are and who you want to be.

Here’s another way resolutions fail you: They’re often built on lies we tell ourselves. “I’ll never eat sugar again.” “I’ll go to the gym every single day.” “I’ll be perfect this time.”

You can align yourself with your true self when you stop lying to yourself.

My word in 2025 was “commitment.” I used the word as my beacon to hold myself accountable to myself. Instead of relying on willpower, I’d stop myself and ask if this was in keeping with my commitment to myself.

It worked sometimes, but sometimes it felt like a guilt call-out.

By the end of 2025, my word “commitment” turned into the word “integrity” thanks to Martha Beck’s book by the same name. In her book Integrity, she sees it as several ways of being, one of which I started using: not telling lies.

I promised myself in November to stop telling lies. But the biggest lies I was telling were not to others. I’ve learned over the years how to tell people the truth, even hard truths.

The real lies I was telling were to myself.

Here's what that looked like for me:

One such lie has been around drinking alcohol. I love beer, and my husband and I love visiting breweries when we travel. I also know that alcohol is a neuro toxin.

Over the last 12 months, I’ve been cutting back on my 1-2 drinks a month. One to two drinks a month isn’t tons of drinking and is far less than I used to drink even a year ago. But if I want to get down to even less—and one day down to zero—then integrity is helping me get there, without the shame or guilt.

I now set my integrity goals and stop lying to myself.

Before I go out, I decide if it’s a night to have a drink or not. Many times I take alternatives with me or order a zero-alcohol beer, and I hold myself to it. I don’t lie to myself.

Other times, I decide that I’ll have one glass of red wine and support myself again by not lying to myself.

And for me, it works. I’m proud of not lying to myself and standing in my integrity.

It’s true POWER and it’s sustainable in a way resolutions never are.

Are You Ready to Ditch Resolutions and Try Something That Actually Works?

How do you feel with the first 3 steps to your Freedom Blueprint Framework mapped out?

I hope you feel as excited as I feel, ready to take on 2026 with new vigor, a new powerful focus, and belief in yourself.

No more failed resolutions. No more guilt. No more forcing your body to do things it’s not ready for.

Just freedom, calibration, and integrity, the first three pillars that actually create sustainable weight loss and lasting change.

I can feel the momentum and magic that’s here already, and I can’t wait to see what we build together in 2026.
